Affordable Insurance

Are you trying to find affordable health insurance coverage? I talk to people day in and day out with regard to insurance information and the biggest complaint that I receive is the difficulty of finding health insurance that will give people the coverage they need at a premium rate that they can afford. It seems that most people have decided to forgo health insurance coverage and take a gamble of not being covered as opposed to paying the high premiums and then possibly not utilizing the insurance. This train of thought makes sense but I’m not sure it’s the wisest choice people should make. I often wonder about the people that choose not to have health insurance coverage, what would they do in the event of an emergency and either they or a loved one is transported to the hospital with a serious medical condition. How would they be able to pay for that hospital visit without insurance? The out-of-pocket expense would be astronomical.

My son is getting ready to go to college and I know that he will be covered on our insurance plan until he graduates but we are also looking into student health insurance coverage for him as well to supplement our plan. In the case of an emergency he’ll have double coverage that can only help us in the long run as far as out of pocket expenses are concerned. Universal life insurance is something else I highly recommend people to get. Take for example my son; we are paying his tuition for college on a quarterly basis. If something were to happen to me and I am no longer around to help supplement the household income there’s a chance that my son would not be able to attend college because my spouse may not be able to afford it without a proper life insurance policy in place.

When it comes to the retirement years it’s very important to know about Medicare eligibilitys. A lot of people assume that once they turn 65 they will be enrolled completely in Medicare. However, this may not be the case. If someone who turns 65 and is still gainfully employed they have the option of foregoing Medicare part B coverage so that they can maintain their health insurance coverage through their employer. With that being said a retiree would not be able to get any one of the Medigap insurance plans until he/she are enrolled in both traditional Medicare plans. 1-800-MEDIGAP is a great source to get all of your questions answered concerning Medicare and your eligibility.
